WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL

The original pledge of allegiance was written shortly after the Civil War by US Army Captain George Balch. It was changed in 1882, again 1924 and finally in 1954 when President Eisenhower added “under God”.

“With liberty and Justice for all“ was included in the first version and has been commonly understood to apply to all Americans, regardless of gender, race, economic status, political ideology or religious background.

Liberty and Justice for all in America after Trump takes office?

Maybe, unless: your parents weren’t born in the USA, you’re a woman, you’re a Democrat, you live in a “Blue” state, you’re not a Christian, you’re a minority, you’re LGBTQIA, you get your news from traditional sources, you accept science, you believe that burning fossil fuel is causing climate change, you believe in the rule of law, or you question anything that President Donald Trump says.
